I have been a Physical Education Teacher in Houston Texas for 10 years. I attended the University of Houston where I ran track and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology, Sports Administration. In 2012, I earned my Masters in Education form the American College of Education. Recently, I became a proud member of the Spark I-Team along with several outstanding educators from around the country. Together we have worked to provide innovative ideas and best practices to physical education teachers around the world. |
The Neuroscience of Exercise
Physical Education is an integral part in teaching the whole child. Recent brain research supports the link between movement and the increase of cognitive function that leads to academic success. As physical educators we have the opportunity to influence our students’ physical, emotional, social, and moral wellbeing. This session will provide you with basic knowledge of how the brain functions along with simple strategies to incorporate meaningful movement in your class.
