Elementary Physical Education Roundtable
This session will provide elementary physical education teachers with a forum to meet
and discuss lesson ideas with each other. The presenter will prompt discussions and
provide both lessons and helpful resources for teachers. Teachers, please feel free to bring your own ideas to share with others. This will be a great session to connect with other passionate teachers.
This presentation is following up my Middle School Roundtable from last year. Teachers will be provided with lesson ideas that they can implement in their own classrooms. In addition, teachers will be provided with ideas to combat isolation and resources to better their programs. Teachers will also be provided with opportunity to discuss the ideas that I present as well as any other thought/concerns that they may have with each other. One of the most valuable components of this session is the connection that the teachers will make with each other.

Why PE? An Overview for Those Considering a Teaching Career
Attendees will be provided with an overview of what it means to be a physical education teacher in the 21st century. Future professionals will hear information about the field from a current physical education professor (and former teacher) and two physical education majors. Come find out why PE is such a rewarding career choice.
The presenters will provide an enthusiastic look at a career in teaching from three perspectives: a professor's, a teacher's, and a current student's. The main objectives of this presentation will be to educate the attendees on the impact that a physical education teacher can have on his/her students. Attendees will be educated on the goals of physical education, first and foremost its ability to promote lifelong movers. In addition, attendees will be given an opportunity to ask questions about the subject which may help to reduce some of their misconceptions. Future professionals should come away inspired due to the enthusiasm of the three presenters.
