Recent data will be presented that identifies PL as the gateway to active participation. Movement preparation for performance enhancement and injury reduction
This session will provide the background on movement preparation, as means to increase the durability and performance of active participants. Studies have shown dramatic reduction in lower limb injuries with this approach. A movement preparation guide will be shared which outlines activities (and activities will be demonstrated) that can be incorporated into PE settings, sports, active vocations, and other physically active leisure time pursuits.

Creating Quality Physical Literacy Experiences in PE
This session will outline several successful interventions in PE and school settings to achieve curricular objectives of children aged 6 to 13. These interventions succeed not only in substantially enhancing motor competence in various domains, but also dramatically improve self-confidence, comprehension of movement terminology, as well as succeed in reducing the gender gap in movement and physical activity.
