Strategies and Resources for Teaching Sex Ed
What should you be teaching? What is required? What is age appropriate?
The California Healthy Youth Act, which becomes law on January 1, 2016, makes comprehensive sexual health education mandatory, once in grades 7-8 and once in 9-12, in school districts throughout California.
Most teachers who are assigned to teach sex ed have very little background on the topic and or are concerned with how to deliver content in a way that is in compliance with the CA Ed Code.
This workshop will review the most recent ed code requirements, align the new law with CA Health Education Content Standards and respond to questions and challenges to implantation with strategies and resources.
